ST104 A Plaster softening point instrument

The ST104A ointment softening point instrument is strictly designed and manufactured in accordance with the 2020 Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2102 ointment softening point determination method. This method is used to measure the temperature of the ointment when it is heated and softened under specified conditions, that is, to measure the temperature when the ointment drops by 25mm due to heating according to the following method. Used to detect the tenderness of plaster and indirectly reflect its viscosity.

The principle of measuring the softening point of plaster is to place the plaster sample in a sample ring, place a steel ball in the center of the surface of the plaster sample, and place the sample ring with the plaster in a water bath using a bracket. As the temperature of the water bath increases, the plaster softens and the steel ball sinks. When the steel ball carrying the plaster sample contacts the lower bottom plate, the temperature recorded at this moment is the softening point temperature of the plaster.
